- A letter from John Anson Ford the the Editor of the Los Angeles Times, offering corrections regarding an article that appeared in the Times on September 9, 1936. Anson had just been elected chairman of the Democratic County Central Committee and writes that the article, in referring to him as an Epic candidate, was incorrect. He states that he was not endorsed by the Epics, and that he has no plans to run for mayor, concluding "there are people who assume public office, or other public position, for the purpose of sincerely rendering service, and without ulterior purposes. I aim to be such a person." The letter is typed on station with the letterhead: John Anson Ford Company/Advertising - Publicity/916 C. C. Chapman Building/Los Angeles/Established 1920
