Text: Considering color and texture. These swatches are not necessarily accurate color combinations but simplify ways of handling color for consideration – we all know matching skirtings to sweaters is not new – or exciting – altho it will undoubtedly continue to be in demand – I feel however, we should limit the matching range to about 6 or 7 and attempt to develop a more interesting range of blends, harmonies, and mixtures with a yearly selection of about 25 or 30 sweater colors, with no seasonal demarcations, we should be able to break these down into small coordinated promotional groups therefore allowing for the greatest flexibility in choices to the buyer.

Handwritten on drawing: IF --- If our earth continues rocketing toward complete polution, we may, in order to survive each have to wear a sort of life-support suit. This personal environmental habitat which would never be doffed except in specially built large self-support way-stations. The exterior of this body container would be of a material, thin, transparent * weightless with combat properties which I am sure Nasa can develop. Underneath is a 2nd skin garment in which the individual might be able to express some personal aesthetic. Obviously the fashion market as we know it would becom extinct -- and perhaps it would end the constant repetition of the 20s 30s etc. It might also help the population problem --- Bonnie Cashin

This article was published in the book ''Songs and Politics in Eastern Africa'', containing various essays on songs and politics from the region. Professor Rayya Timammy used Ustadh Mau and his work as a case study to portray the connection between the traditional state, politics and orature. She does this by examining how politics is thematised in the epic written by the poet.
