Description:: Police officer Robert W. Trowbridge inspects the handgun used by Paul A. Wright to fatally shoot his wife, Evelyn, and best friend, John B. Kimmel. The gun is a Luger automatic, a German war relic. Wright confessed to shooting the pair after finding them in an embrace on the piano bench in his home. The trial that followed was named the "white flame" trial by the press and Wright was eventually let off on an insanity plea, thanks to his lawyer, Jerry Giesler
