There is a sandy beach at the base of the rock at center, and the beach is covered with smaller rocks in front of Castle Rock. There is an especially big rock in the foreground at right. There are hills visible in the background at left, and the calm water of the ocean is visible at right. Castle rock was leveled in the mid 1950's and is now paved over.
