Description:: Home in rural El Monte completed under the Rurban Homes project funded by the Federal Resettlement Administration. 100 homes were completed and occupied in El Monte under the small farm home program supported by the Los Angeles Times and the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce. The rural homes were provided to low-income families who could not afford private loans in an attempt to create a small farm home development.
