Description:: Photograph looking out towards the ocean while Glen Velzy poses with fish he and H. H. West caught in Newport Beach. Glen Velzy stands in the foreground at right; he faces and looks towards the left. A fishing pole is propped up behind him as he holds a wood plank that extends horizontally to the left. About a couple dozen fish dangle from the plank. A couple crates sit on the sand beneath the plank at left. The top crate reads, "HYDRO PURA," and "TWO WATER SOF[T]E[NER] THE BEST CLEANSER KNOWN HYDR[A] PURA BA[TH] TOILE[T] LAUND[RY] KITCHEN SCHALK CHEMICAL CO. LOS ANGELES, CAL." Waves crash on the shore at left and a pier extends across the background.

The dolphin lies on a pallet that is carried by the two men. The wharf is to their right and stretches on an angle from right down towards the left. The supporting structure of the wharf is visible beneath the wharf. Pulley systems stand on top of the wharf at left. The shadows of two people stretch across the sand and enter the photograph from the bottom edge at left.
