In the distance and at a lower elevation, the Niagara River (right) cascades over Horseshoe Falls at center. Mist from the falls rises up from the basin at center. On the far side of the falls, at left, Niagara Falls, New York is visible.

Description:: According to: California State Library; Sacramento, California; Great Register of Voters, 1900-1968, for the year 1948, accessed through the Ancestry.com database, the Bacons, Newquists and Robinsons were neighbors of H. H. and Mertie West on North Ridgewood Place. The Wests lived at 830 North Ridgewood Place and the Bacons, Newquists and Robinsons lived at 836, 832 1/2 and 832 North Ridgewood Place, respectively.

His suitcase sits on the grass in front of him. Writing on the suitcase reads, "H.H.WEST JR 19028528 US.QMC." A car is parked along the curb directly behind them. It is viewed at an angle from the side and faces right. It is parked along North Ridgewood Place, which extends on an upward angle through the image from left to right behind the group. Description:: Photograph of Mertie West and others crossing 4th Avenue near Union Station in Seattle. 4th Avenue stretches along the bottom edge. Mertie West stands rightmost and nearest to camera in the foreground at center. She walks with her back to the camera and towards the far street corner. Other pedestrians to the left of her also cross the street with their backs to camera. In the near distance at right, a car is stopped as the pedestrians cross. It is viewed at an angle from the side, facing left. At far right, behind the car and on the opposite side of 4th Avenue, Union Station enters frame. The Beaux Arts building is viewed at an angle from the front. A large porte-cochere extends from the front of the building, towards the center of the image. In the distance, at left and center, buildings lining South Jackson Street are visible. South Jackson Street is obscured by the pedestrians in the foreground.

Description:: A slightly out-of-focus photograph of Mertie West posing while visiting the Granary Burying Ground in Boston. Mertie West stands in the near distance at center. She faces left but turns her head towards camera. The narrow, stone-paved walkway she stands upon enters frame from the lower left corner and extends on an upward angle to the right. On the near side of the walkway, grave markers stand in a row, parallel to the walkway. Behind Mertie, the cemetery grounds sprawl into the distance. Grave stones stand in rows that run perpendicular to the walkway. A tomb rises from the ground, behind and to the right of Mertie. Several trees dot the grounds. In the background, a street and buildings are visible lining the cemetery's back edge. Hazy patches of white obscure the image along its right edge.
