Los Angeles Civic Grand Opera production of “La Traviata,” Act 2, Scene 2. Baritone Enrico Porta, portraying Giorgio Germont, sings while surrounded by cast members wearing gowns and coattails. Downstage, an unidentified performer in the role of Baron Douphol (wearing a monocle and sash across his chest) faces away from the crowd. The setting is a room in a Parisian home. The set’s design and props reflect an opulent space, including decorative wall treatments, a curtained window, upholstered chairs and settee, and a chandelier hanging above the center space. Los Angeles Civic Grand Opera production of “La Traviata,” Act 3. Opera singer Nelda Scarsella portrays Violetta. She is seated on a settee next to Gene Curtsinger (in the role of Alfredo Germont). Enrico Porta, portraying Giorgio Germont, stands at right, while unidentified performers portraying Dr. Grenvil and Annina (Violetta’s maid) stand in the background. The setting is Violetta’s bedroom in her Parisian home. Props include a bed, lace covered nightstand, side table, chairs and a settee. Beyond the stage, musicians can be seen in shadow within the orchestra pit at foreground.
