The adobe of Manuel Dominguez, on the Mexican land grant of Rancho San Pedro, was completed in 1826. The Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum is listed on the city of Carson web site as 18127 Alameda Street, in Carson. This address is actually in unincorporated Los Angeles County, closely surrounded by Carson, Compton, and Long Beach.

Constructed in 1929, the Gothic Revival style building was originally a residential stock co-operative, was converted to a hotel after the Great Depression, returned to being a stock co-operative in the mid nineteen fifties and converted to condominium titles in 1991. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is located at 800 East Ocean Boulevard

Photograph of Clara Bartlett, seated, and daughter Carolyn Bartlett wearing a white sailor suit and tie, on a dock at Long Beach Harbor. Two clipper ships are docked in the harbor behind them. Painted on the ship at left: “INDIANA LOS ANGELES;” at right: “YA… SAMPSON.” A flag with a single star is positioned beneath. An anchor hangs next to a figurehead at the ship’s prow. The figurehead sculpture is a male anthropomorphic figure wearing a Plains Indian headdress. The figure gradually morphs into stylized Corinthian leaves. A ship yard sits across the water with a sign reading “Marine Terminal.” The area holds numerous buildings and (presumably) a gravel mound with conveyor.
