Coronation of the Fiesta Queen, copy print, Los Angeles, circa 1910-1920
- Description:
- Copy print photograph of the Fiesta de Los Angeles Queen at her coronation. The queen wears a paneled jacquard print dress with long gloves, necklace and tiara. Female ushers, wearing men's 17th century courtly attire, carry the train of her velvet cape. At left stands a man wearing a three-piece suit with a tall, stiff collar and narrow necktie. With exception of the females who follow her, only males are visible in the crowd. All are dressed like the man who greets the queen except for one police officer wearing a roll-collar coat with a button-down front, fabric trimmed cuffs, badge and hat with wreath-style emblem at center. Three buildings can be viewed in the background, one decorated with bunting draped over its window sills.
