Description:: The Children's Home Society of California is a non-profit child welfare agency founded in 1891. It became the first licensed child placement agency in California in 1911. It was located at 919 E. 25th St. from the 1920's up to 1942, when the organization moved to the Ozro W. Childs mansion at 3100 W. Adams Blvd. where it remained until 1977.
