Description:
P. H. Philbin, of Chicago, a former owner of the Sorrento Beach Club building on the Pacific Coast Highway at the base of the palisades cliffs, had planned a 12-story apartment building on the site in 1953. The project included utilizing the massive concrete Sorrento Beach Club structure which had been abandoned in an unfinished state. The project was controversial, as some property owners felt that it would mar the beauty of the Santa Monica Palisades Park.

Stores hawking a variety of wares, made evident by their signs, can also be seen. Christmas decorations are also visible.

Description:
Copy print of a published image with caption that features two test pilots wearing flight suits, helmets, and parachutes strapped to their backs. They speak to a third man in uniform while a bomber plane is being loaded behind them. Caption reads: "Bomber for Britain - Like a wartime scene on an English airdrome is this evening picture of a new Vengeance dive bomber being loaded with practice bombs at Vultee Field as the waiting pilots stand by. This Vultee dive bomber, now in production for Britain, is designed to outperform any known plane of similar type in world."

Description:
Brock & Company Jewelers was the most important jewelry and giftware store in Los Angeles. Founded by George A. Brock in 1903, it was sold in 1964 and the business ended s few years later. It was located at 515 West Seventh St. and had a 2nd location at the Beverly-Wilshire Hotel.
