Articles that reference Dr. Leo Baughman do not focus on his dental career, although he was a prominent dentist and member of the California State board of dental examination. Baughman was also a speedboat racing enthusiast, owning several world record-holding boats (each one named Blue Streak). Baughman often acted as chief timer for regatta races. Dr. George Bergman and Gertrude Bergman were 7th Day Adventists missionaries in Ethiopia. He founded a hospital in Dessie and was the superintendent of Zauditu Memorial Sanitarium and Hospital in Addis Ababa. When Italy was ready to invade Ethiopia in 1935, he sent his family back to Los Angeles, but he remained to take care of any casualties.
