The Tehachapi Mountains is a mountain range in California that extends for approximately 40 miles in southern Kern County and northeastern Los Angeles County. The California poppy (Eschscholzia californica) is a perennial and annual plant native to the United States. The plant is the official state flower of California.

Description:
Lake Sherwood is a reservoir created by the Sherwood Dam completed in 1904. The dam is located in the Santa Monica Mountains near Thousand Oaks, California. The construction of the dam created a 165 acre lake that was originally named Potrero Lake and later renamed Lake Sherwood. The lake was used as a film location for the 1922 film "Robin Hood" and the 1938 film "The Adventures of Robin Hood," among other movies.

Description:
Upper photo: View of Castle Rock from the west. The large conical rock is at left, jutting out from a low sloping hillside. There is a sandy beach at the base of the rock at center, and the beach is covered with smaller rocks in front of Castle Rock. There is an especially big rock in the foreground at right. There are hills visible in the background at left, and the calm water of the ocean is visible at right. Castle rock was leveled in the mid 1950's and is now paved over.
