Description:: Laguna Park was later re-named Ruben Salazar Park after the L.A. Times journalist Ruben Salazar who was killed at the August 29, 1970 Chicano Moratorium. The Moratorium took place at Laguna Park and extended into the community of East Los Angeles. Rosalio, Maria Rosalia, and Ricardo all attended the Moratorium.
