SPANISH: Domingo Jiménez Aruquipa es entrevistado por Juan de Dios Yapita, y habla de los siguientes temas: 1. Las funciones que asume el yerno (tullqa) dentro de la familia. Durante las fiestas el yerno más cercano de la familia debe bailar la danza del cóndor (kuntur thuqu) que trae mucha suerte. Los instrumentos musicales que accompañana la música son el tambor hecho del cuero de llama (lamara), y la güira seca (pululu). Menciona a Bartolina Sisa y el sonido del cuerno de toro (pututu). 2. Describe el lugar denominado Chullpa Luyu donde beben cerveza de maíz (k’usa) y realizan libaciones (ch’alla). 3. Menciona las hierbas medicinales para la calentura, por ejemplo, la chinchalla que existe en cantidades en Quillacas. 4. The musical instruments that accompany the music are the drum made of llama hide (lamara), and the dry gourd (pululu). He mentions Bartolina Sisa and the sound of the bull's horn (pututu). 2. Comenta que la compró de Macha, y la interpretan a este instrumento desde la fiesta de Rosario hasta carnavales. 2. Ambos interpretan tres canciones con acompañamiento de la guitarra. Cantan dos canciones en quechua y una en aymara, las mismas titulan: Chulita Alisya, Anata sinisa kirki, Unsiya pampita. 3. Qaqachaka ethnography - recreation of the rite of marking the sheep, and singing to the animals - 003

SPANISH: Esta recreación del rito del marcado de las ovejas fue registrada por Juan de Dios Yapita y Denise Y. Arnold, en la casa de Andrés Espejo Antachoque y su familia, participan Pedro Choque Ayca y su esposa. Consiste en las libaciones (waxt'a) que se hacen durante el rito, el momento del marcado en sí de las orejas de las ovejas, el pasar la herencia de animales de padres a hijos y actuaciones del Canto a la Oveja Madre (Mamala paw paw) por las mujeres presentes, y también por Don Andrés, quien imita la voz de una mujer. Todo se desarrolla en la casa de Andrés Espejo Antachoque y su esposa Felipa Sirki Ayca, con los otros participantes: Pedro Choque Ayca y su esposa Asunta Arias Tarque, y la madre de Felipa, Agustina Ayca. El rito está transcrito en el libro "Más allá del silencio: Las fronteras de género en los Andes" (La Paz, 1997), editado por Denise Y. Arnold.<br>ENGLISH: This reenactment of the sheep marking ritual was recorded by Juan de Dios Yapita and Denise Y. Arnold in the house of Andrés Espejo Antachoque and his family, and Pedro Choque Ayca and his wife participate. It consists of the libations (waxt'a) made during the ritual, the moment of marking the animals' ears, the passing of animal inheritance from parents to children, and the singing of the Song to the Mother Sheep (Mamala paw paw) by the women present, and also by Don Andres imitating the voice of a woman. The ritual takes place in the house of don Andrés Espejo Antachoque and his wife, Felipa Sirki Ayca, with other participants: don Pedro Choque Ayca and his wife, Asunta Arias Tarque, and Felipa's mother, Agustina Ayca. The ritual is transcribed in the book "Más allá del silencio: las fronteras de género en los Andes" (La Paz, 1997), edited by Denise Y. Arnold.

SPANISH: El lingüista boliviano-catalán Xavier Albó Corrons expone en un taller del MUSEF, organizado por Juan de Dios Yapita y Denise Y. Arnold, sobre los criterios para la normalización de una lengua. Desarrolla tres criterios con referencia al caso de quechua: 1. La lengua escrita tiene criterios propios respecto de la lengua oral. Por ejemplo, para decir el cabello, puede ser ñik’uta o lak’uta. 2. En la lengua escrita existe un nivel de refinamiento gramatical mayor que en la lengua oral, por ejemplo en el caso de apócope del quechua jamus sarkani (estaba queriendo ir). 3. Hay que tener mucha flexibilidad en la parte escrita; plantea tres razones por ello: la falta la investigación Inter dialectal, la forma escrita depende de los estilos de texto y no hay todavía normas para estos aspects. Menciona también las implicancias de los neologismos propuestos por la Reforma Educativa boliviana de 1994, con referencia al hebreo. 4. Comentarios de dos personas del público.<br>ENGLISH: The Bolivian-Catalan linguist Xavier Albó Corrons contributes to a MUSEF workshop, led by Juan de Dios Yapita and Denise Y. Arnold, about the criteria for the normalization of a language. He develops three criteria in the case of the normalization of the Quechua language: 1. The written language has its own criteria with respect to the oral language. For example, hair can be ñik'uta or lak'uta. 2. In the written language there is a greater level of grammatical refinement than in the oral language, for example in the case of the Quechua apócope jamus sarkani (I was wanting to go). 3. SPANISH: Los niños Elvira Espejo Ayca y Raúl Copacondo Arias hablan con Juan de Dios Yapita y Denise Y. Arnold de los siguientes temas: 1. Elvira (11 años) cuenta cinco cuentos tradicionales del lugar: el Cuento del León y el Ratón (Liwunanti Achakunti), el Cuento del Vendedor de locoto y la Muchacha (Lukutu aljirinti Imillanti), el Cuento de la Joven Rita (Rita palachu), el Cuento de las jóvenes (Qachunakata), y el Cuento de la Joven Víbora (Chuqir qamir Wirnita). 2. El niño Raúl cuenta un fragmento del Cuento de la apuesta del Zorro y el Sapo (Jamp'atunti Liq'uchinti atipasitata). 3. En la entrevista a Elvira, ella indica que a su edad sabe trenzar la cinta de cabello (tullma) y otros tejidos pequeños, que le gustaría aprender a tejer la manta femenina (awayu) con sus diseños (salta). Elvira (11 years old) tells five folktales of the place: the Tale of the Lion and the Mouse (Liwunanti Achakunti), the Tale of the Locoto (Hot pepper) Seller and the Girl (Lukutu aljirinti Imillanti), the Tale of the Young Rita (Rita palachu), the Tale of the young women (Qachunakata), and the Tale of the young Snake Lady (Chuqir qamir Wirnita). 2. The boy Raúl tells a fragment of the Tale of the Bet of the Fox and the Toad (Jamp'atunti Liq'uchinti atipasitata). 3. In the interview with the Elvira, she indicates that at her age she knows how to braid the hair ribbon (tullma) and other small fabrics, that she would like to learn to weave the female mantle (awayu) and its designs (salta). She likes to study at school and learn stories from her grandparents. She helps with the housework, and helps prepare and sell chicha (k'usa).
