The life of Juan de Dios Yapita - Workshop on standardizing languages at the National Museum of Ethnography and Folklore (MUSEF), in La Paz, with Xavier Albó Corrons - 017

Description:: SPANISH: El lingüista boliviano-catalán Xavier Albó Corrons expone en un taller del MUSEF, organizado por Juan de Dios Yapita y Denise Y. Arnold, sobre los criterios para la normalización de una lengua. Desarrolla tres criterios con referencia al caso de quechua: 1. La lengua escrita tiene criterios propios respecto de la lengua oral. Por ejemplo, para decir el cabello, puede ser ñik’uta o lak’uta. 2. En la lengua escrita existe un nivel de refinamiento gramatical mayor que en la lengua oral, por ejemplo en el caso de apócope del quechua jamus sarkani (estaba queriendo ir). 3. Hay que tener mucha flexibilidad en la parte escrita; plantea tres razones por ello: la falta la investigación Inter dialectal, la forma escrita depende de los estilos de texto y no hay todavía normas para estos aspects. ENGLISH: The Bolivian-Catalan linguist Xavier Albó Corrons contributes to a MUSEF workshop, led by Juan de Dios Yapita and Denise Y. Arnold, about the criteria for the normalization of a language. He develops three criteria in the case of the normalization of the Quechua language: 1. The written language has its own criteria with respect to the oral language. For example, hair can be ñik'uta or lak'uta. 2. In the written language there is a greater level of grammatical refinement than in the oral language, for example in the case of the Quechua apócope jamus sarkani (I was wanting to go). 3. You have to have a lot of flexibility in the written part; he suggests three reasons for this: there is a lack of inter-dialectal research, the written form depends on text styles, and there are not yet set standards for these. Description:: SPANISH: La grabación en audio, en la ruta de un viaje por la sierra a Arica, Chile, es de canciones por los dos amigos Juan de Dios Yapita y Pedro Pablo Humire. Don Pedro Pablo también acompaña a Juan de Dios en su guitarra en el concierto de Pedro Pablo Humire en Parinacota. 1. La grabación está intercalada con comentarios de Juan de Dios sobre el viaje quien va nombrando los lugares que van pasando, entre ellas Chapiquiña, Murmutami, Sapajawira, cerro nevado Tarapaca, Putre, Cerro Paychata y Parinacota. 2. En el transcurso del viaje y en el concierto en Parinacota Pedro Pablo Humire interpreta su canción el wayñu “Chiquita Chapikiña” compuesto en una comunidad de Putre, Provincia de Parinacota, Chile, en 1966. 3. Luego canta “Kawkiruraki sarxirista kawkiruraki irpitasma” en el que recita un poema en castellano. 4. En la siguiente sección canta Juan de Dios Yapita “Alma vida y corazón”, luego, 5. ENGLISH: The sound recording, on the route of a trip through the mountains to Arica, Chile, is of songs by the two friends Juan de Dios Yapita and Pedro Pablo Humire. Don Pedro Pablo also accompanies Juan de Dios on his guitar at the Pedro Pablo Humire concert in Parinacota. 1. The recording is interspersed with comments by Juan de Dios about the trip, who names the places that they pass, including Chapiquiña, Murmutami, Sapajawira, the snow-capped mountain Tarapaca, Putre, Cerro Paychata and Parinacota. 2. These songs were so popular that they were performed several times on the Chilean radio in Arica.

Description:: SPANISH: Juan de Dios Yapita y Roberto Espejo graban los audios del libro de aprendizaje del idioma aymara “Método fácil”, escrito por Juan de Dios Yapita. Graban desde el inicio hasta un diálogo de la unidad diceisiete, con acompañamiento de música o sonido del bombo en los cambios de unidad y tema. 1. Al inicio de la grabación se escucha una cuña con fondo musical presentando la guía publicada por el Instituto de Lengua y Cultura Aymara (ILCA). 2. En la grabación del audio se presenta el contenido primero en aymara y luego en castellano. El texto en aymara es leído por Profesor Yapita y la traducción de los textos es presentado por Roberto Espejo Ayca. 3. La ropa no tiene illa, pero sí, la rueca (qapu) y las tejedoras a mano denominado la joven tejedora (sawu tawaqu) que son halladas en los cerros (qullunaka) y a plena vista (qhanankiwa). 2. Sobre los nudos (chinu). Según él, hay nudos machos (urqu chinu) y nudos hembras (qachu chinu) que se diferencian entre sí. Las autoridades en el Tiempo de los Incas fueron Mamani el cobrador, Águila, Allqamari y Llama (Tilantiru o qarwa). Los líderes principales (mallku) elegían las autoridades. Actualmente las mujeres cantan (aymart’i) en cada elección de autoridad y para ser elegido debe tener suerte: a) Mallku samay, y b) Kurwa turu ajinti. Los insectos también tienen su autoridad, por ejemplo, el escarabajo (pankatiya) que es el líder (jilanqu). Las autoridades participan de la fiesta de Espíritu y San José, no deben faltar sino serán mal vistos. En el cabildo, que es la fiesta de la Pachamama, se elige las autoridades donde se reúne, también, dinero con el cobro de impuesto (tasa) que antiguamente se entregaba en la ciudad. Actualmente el dinero recaudado se queda en la comunidad para ayudar en la escuela, a los niños huérfanos (wajcha) para que estudien y otras actividades que necesite la comunidad. Esto hacían en el Tiempo de los Incas. Los Alcaldes y Pachaka son los que controlan a la autoridad principal (Mallku). Las autoridades elegidas son: Mallku, Kuraka, Jilaqata, Pachaka y Comisario. Don Domingo considera que de a poco los sindicatos se perderán y que prevalecerá el cabildo con su líder el mallku como autoridad principal, así como Felipe Quispe. Las autoridades van por el camino grande. Deben ser siempre elocuentes (suma parlaña), igual que el Inca. En la ciudad no crían rebaños, no son ricos, pero deben hacer libaciones para pedir dinero y ser ricos (qamiri). ENGLISH: Domingo Jiménez Aruquipa is interviewed by Denise Y. En el altiplano (suni) le decía qatachu por ser una región donde no se produce seguido. Por eso entre qatachu y valle saben hacer libaciones (ch’alla) en la época de siembra (simillt’aña), lo mismo en los valles donde había leche (awila) y en la cabeza de valle que es la región donde produce de todo (achu). 3. Las mujeres siendo autoridad son muy buenas, porque tienen buena cabeza (suma p’iqi). Ellas son buenas tejiendo una variedad (kasta) de textiles, y elaborando (luraña) diferentes platos de comida (manq’a), mientras que los hombres trabajan en la tierra con sacos grandes (jatiyu o quyunta). Las hermanitas (kullakita) cantan (aymart’asiña) la canción del Padre con zapatos de oro y sombrero de plata (Quri sapatuni, qullqi sumwiritu, tatala). Que la Constitución Política del Estado no representa a los que somos dueños de esta tierra. Los aymaras y quechuas somos la nación representados por la wiphala que tiene siete colores. El uso de esta bandera se dio un 2 de agosto en el gobierno de Gualberto Villarroel. 2. Que las abuelas (tayka) y los abuelos leen los diseños (saltas) de los textiles. Los textiles, antiguamente, eran mejor elaborados, por ejemplo, en el traje femenino negro (chiyär almilla). 3. Existe dentro de la comunidad una ley para respetarse (rispitasiña o muñasiña) y no haya conflictos (ch’axwa) ni odios (uñisiña). Los encargados de cuidar estos enfrentamientos son las autoridades denominados segunda mayor. 4. Sobre la nación de los flojos (jayra marka) donde vivían los ladrones (lunthata) y la autoridad principal (mallku). Pero nosotros nos preocupamos (llakisiña) por el agua porque son los pechos (ñuñu) de la Pachamama, que nos brinda agua, y también ofrendamos por los tres cielos a todos los cerros (qullunaqa). La diferencia entre la educación de los niños en la escuela, en la casa y en la comunidad. En la casa, les enseñan a los niños su padre, por ejemplo, a realizar lazos con cuero (lip'ichi) y a las niñas le enseñan sus madres a tejer a mano (sawuña). En la escuela les enseñan a leer y escribir. 2. La palabra y la lengua se aprenden mirando (uñkaraqi) y escuchando (ist’aña) y se expresan. El ñuku es una planta que crece hasta tres metros con lo que envuelven (k’iruña) a la osamenta del animal sacrificado (ch'iwu). 2. En la fiesta de Todo Santos se prepara alimentos para las almas que llegan, por ejemplo, pizarra de granos de quinua (jupha). Los dolientes entierran a sus muertos acompañado de una prenda pequeña tejida a mano de una sola pieza (inkuña) que sirve para llevar todos los alimentos que comía el fallecido mientras vivía. En la fiesta, reciben a las almas con maíz tostado (tunqu jamp’i). Es una costumbre (iranuka) recibir comida (qurpa) en un plato en que se come mote con carne asada (kanka) para luego dirigirse al cementerio. La qurpa se come con toda la comunidad. Los varones (chacha) preparan la carne y las mujeres (warmi) cocinan. 3. La despensa de alimentos es donde guardan la carne seca (charki), por ejemplo, los cereales y otros alimentos.
