An episode from the narrative tradition of 'Ambav Bharat', dedicated to the female deity of Ambav. The episode consists of a Jogi or an ascetic getting angry at a 'Bar' tree for killing his eighty four disciples. The Jogi compels the King of the area to order the cutting of the Bar tree. Various people are hired to accomplish this task but as the tree is blessed by devi Ambav, a swarm of bees continue to protect it and the tree survives. Finally, devi Ambav appears and tries to persuade the king to not cut the tree. The episode is sung and narrated by a group of male singers with Dhak and Thali accompaniment. The narration alternates between sung verse known as 'Gav', and spoken elaboration known as 'Arthav'.

The episode consists of a Jogi or an ascetic arriving with his eighty four disciples at the Baraliya Dham known for the great 'Bar' tree. The Bar tree had promised devi Ambav eighty four human sacrifices as she had saved the tree from the tortures of the underworld. The Bar tree therefore kills the eighty four disciples of the Jogi who realises upon returning from a short trip that all his disciples are dead. The episode is sung and narrated by a group of male singers with Dhak and Thali accompaniment. The narration alternates between sung verse known as 'Gav', and spoken elaboration known as 'Arthav'.

Among the other participants were Prasmoni Dutta, A.K. Das, and Madan Meena. The recording includes a presentation by Parasmoni Dutta on the ecomuseum in Majuli, and his work on Sankardev, and the Sattras. The discussions were translated into Hindi for the benefit of participants attending.

The episode consists of Ambav Mata, the central deity of the narrative, travelling to the nether world and meeting Vasak dev, the snake deity in order to rescue a 'Bar' tree. Ambav Mata plants the tree on the earth and which defines the area around the tree as pilgrimage site known as 'Baroliya dham'. The narration alternates betwen sung verse known as 'Gav' and spoken elaboration of it, known as 'Arthav' or 'Arthavan'.

The two singers accompany themselves on the Sindhi Sarangi. A large part of the recording contains demonstration of identifying melodies and Duhas for various Rajasthani Rags and specific explanation given by the singers for Rajasthani Rags that are difficult to distinguish like Goond Malhar and Sorath, and Maru and Soob. Vibeke Homaa's research dealt with processes of pedagogy among the Rajasthani caste musicians.
