Illustrated pages from the story "Ogwalla Springs," written by Adelbert Bartlett, possibly illustrated by Mrs. Williams. Here, the illustrations flow across two pages. At left, a man wearing a sombrero, vest and full-sleeve shirt plays a guitar and serenades a young woman wearing a cowboy hat, plaid shirt, and neckerchief. The name "Maisie Lou" is written at right. Above the troubadour are treble clef notes surrounding his song's lyric: "My gal up in them thar pink clouds." A rope border runs vertically along their section, then loops around a revolver and a horse saddle. An image of a horse bucking its rider (who exclaims "YIPPEE!") continues the action to the right side page, culminating in a partial view of a horse with a thought bubble over its head (most of the text has been cropped out of the frame). In addition, for sections have been left empty for printed text. A number "4" - likely the page number- is circled at the bottom of the left hand page. What appears to be "KW" is rendered next to the female.
