Probably related to the article, "Walkathon Converted Into Series of 'Derbies.' All Out on Bail After Police Act Under Old Law," 10 May 1934: A2.
Photograph of a line of women, the last 2 have numbers on their backs (16 and 52), seen from the back, striding through a crowd of spectators towards a street with a patrol car parked on it. The women are probably dance marathon participants. Two houses are visible on the opposite side of the street.
The negative sleeve annotation relates this image to Jack Kearns, an American boxing manager. Kearns sponsored a controversial dance marathon (which he termed "walkathon" to get around ordinances) in Los Angeles in 1934. It was raided on May 9.
