Sorensen presses button which releases 1,000,000 volts into the new Millikan-Sorensen vacuum switch. … Its purpose is to shunt Niagaras of power from one track to another. … “Heretofore high-voltage currents have been controlled by means of switches immersed in oil … In our switch we substitute a vacuum for the oil.” …
