Cora Leilani (Lani) Flood, born in Hawaii, was the wife of army veteran Joe P. Flood. She was the financial secretary and publicist for the National Council for Negro Women. Also, she was secretary of the Women’s Auxiliary of Benjamin Bowie Post No. 228, American Legion. During World War II she volunteered for the United Services Organization. Flood was the mother-in-law of Attorney Herbert A. Greenwood, the Los Angeles City Housing Commissioner.
