Tanner sits in a chair between Fitts and Bodkin. The attorneys lean in towards Tanner, who seems to be in mid-conversation sitting with his hands folded in his lap.
The investigation of the torture-kidnapping of Henry G. Bodkin and his wife has been reopened in suspicion that there was another accomplice with Tanner, Harry Brooks, and J. J. Hill. Tanner and Brooks have been sentenced to death for torturing Bodkin by burning his fingers with matches.
