Opera appreciation abounds amongst students thanks to president of the Euterpe Opera Reading Club Edith Payne as Miss Adelaide Bray of Venice High School chaperoned 56 young people at the Biltmore Theater to watch "Barber of Seville".
Photograph appears with the article, "Monarch Knows Business, South Pasadena Group Told," under the subsection, "Students Guests of Opera Club," Los Angeles Times, 02 Apr 1936: A9.
Each of the women stands on one step of the staircase, their arms resting on the bannister, plants and ivy growing along the concrete.
