This is a photograph taken during a formal dedication to the public of the Will Rogers State Beach Park. The tribute was attended by several personalities. A crowd has gathered around the pedestal, on which are seated all the guests of the event, and where Geoffrey Morgan, Master of Ceremonies is speaking. In the background, the beach is dotted with several people sunbathing. A board behind reads, "Will Rogers State Beach, State of California. Dept. Natural Resources, Division of Beaches & Parks." There is also a large section of a tree trunk, with the label, "Will Rogers State Beach, California Big Tree."
