There were more than 5000 bulbs that illuminated Santa Rosa Avenue trees that were planted in the summer of 1885; the trees have been decorated with the holiday lights since 1920.
Hundreds of thousands of lights of various sizes shine while the branches of the decorated trees loom over the road.
