Description: Photograph of Detective Lieutenant Richard "Dick" Lucas, seated on the witness stand. Lucas was one of several law enforcement officers who interrogated William Edward Hickman during his extradition by train from Pendleton, Oregon to Los Angeles.
On the train ride, Hickman confessed to the kidnap and murder of Marion Parker. Hickman was subsequently tried and sentenced to death. He was executed at San Quentin, October 19, 1928.
