San Diego again looms as the local point of the aeronautical world on the eve of what may prove to be another triumph in aviation which may be added to the laurels of the city where so many aviation events of world-wide importance have taken place. William S. Brock and Edward F. Schlee, trans-Atlantic flyers, plan to take off in an attempt to break the world's sustained flight record. Schlee and Brock established a reputation for flying in 1927 when they flew across the Atlantic, and attempted to establish a new record for circling the globe in an airplane. Photo shows Edward F.
