Mrs. Moffett was granted a divorce from Frederick C. Moffett, a studio worker. Georgia Bullock was the first woman Los Angeles Superior Court judge. She and attorney Florence Anderson were members of the National Association of Women Lawyers. Mrs. Gurney became the first woman president of the California Court Reporters Association.

Text from newspaper caption: It was Ladies' Day in Superior Court when Superior Judge Bullock, left, granted a divorce to Mary Elizabeth Moffett, center. The plaintiff was represented by a woman attorney, Florence A. Anderson, right. To complete manless session, proceedings were recorded by feminine reporter.
