This is a portrait of Thomas B. Gurdane, Chief of Police, Pendleton, Oregon, and C. L. "Buck" Lieuallen, State Traffic Officer, Oregon who were responsible for the capture of William Hickman after a car chase. Hickman was executed in October 1928 for the kidnapping and murder of 12-year old Marion Parker.
