Notes
- Description
-
After 1934, Lee Humphries was forced to quit due to exceeding the weight limit of 118 pounds.
A cropped close up of Harry Richards from this photograph appears in "Jockey Richards Rode to Fame on Mike Hall," Los Angeles Times, 21 Dec 1934: 10.
Three men lean against a railing. In the background are the San Gabriel Mountains and a building, possibly a stable. Probably taken at or around the Santa Anita race track. Left to right are Harry Richards, Lee Humphries, veteran jockey Charley Borel. Richards wears a collared, button up jacket over a polo shirt. Humphries wears a zip up vest over a thick long-sleeved shirt and holds a cap with his right hand on the railing. Borel wears a cardigan sweater over a tie and button down shirt.
