Charles "Red" Ruffing sits on his sofa, gesturing with his right hand while telling a story about Babe Ruth pointing where he was going to hit a home run. On his left hand is a heavy square carved ring. Ruffing wears a button down collared shirt with the sleeves rolled up, and slacks. On the back of the sofa is a decorative square or small flag of a stars and stripe shield centered on a baseball.
