Billy Jurges was a shortstop for the Chicago Cubs. He was with the Cubs from 1931-1938, and 1946-1947. He was with the New York Giants from 1939-1945. Around the time of this picture, he had just been traded to the New York Giants.
Augie Galan was the Cubs' left fielder in 1939. He was with the Cubs from 1934-1941, then went on to play for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds, New York Giants, and ended his career in 1949 with the Philadelphia Athletics.
