- Description
- The artist Wolo, was born in Berlin, Germany on July 24, 1902 of noble birth, Baron Wolf Erhardt Anton George Trutzschiler von Falkenstein. He came to the U.S. in 1922 as an exchange student at the University of Wisconsin. In 1927 he moved to Los Angeles and, as a self-taught artist, established a studio on Olvera Street. In 1932, he assisted respected Mexican artist David Siqueiros (1896-1974) with the Olvera Street controversial mural America Tropical. Wolo was also a puppeteer and the author of five childrens books.
