This photograph is related to the article, "Thousands Greet Easter Dawn in Nature's Temples: Hilltops and Sunlit Glens Thronged With Worshipers From Southland Cities and Near-by States," Los Angeles Times, 13 Apr. 1936: 1
Brush stretches across the base of Peace Hill in the foreground. At center, Peace Hill slopes upward. Hundreds of people gather along the near side of the slope in the near distance. They face towards the left, where a makeshift pulpit sits. It is mostly obscured by the brush. The crowd thins as it winds between the bushes and up the hillside. A cross stands atop the hill's peak, off-center to the right. A dozen or so people stand around the cross.
