Photograph of a sign standing outside the entrance to the Carlyle House in Alexandria. A sidewalk spans the width of the bottom edge and stretches back towards center. Lining the left side of the sidewalk, a brick building with arched windows stands. Short, metal bars sit atop the window sills. A sign stands on the sidewalk and beside the building. It reads, "OPEN 9:30 to 5:30 Historic CARLYLE HOUSE Built 1752 GEN. BRADDOCK'S HEADQUARTERS." An awning stretches over the sidewalk, extending across the image along the top edge. In the distance at right, a street lined by buildings stretches into the background.
