According to the negative sleeve, this set of photographs is captured in color. The scans of these images are in black and white.
A poorly-lit or poorly-exposed photograph of Mertie West standing at a street curb outside the Methodist Church she attended while visiting New York City. The sidewalk she stands upon enters from the left half of the bottom frame and extends straight back into the distance. Mertie West stands at the sidewalk's edge at center. She stands in profile, facing right. Behind her, at left, one woman stands in partial along the left edge, facing camera. Other pedestrians walk down the sidewalk in the distance. To the right of Mertie, a wide street enters frame from the lower right corner and extends back towards center. Dozens of cars travel along the street. Buildings and skyscrapers line both sides of the street as it recedes into the background. Four punched holes line the top edge at left.
