Photograph of Mertie West walking towards stalls at Pike Place Market in Seattle. Pike Place stretches on an angle across the foreground. Mertie West stands in the near distance at center. She walks away from the camera and towards market stalls on the far side of the street. An awning hangs down over the sidewalk and stalls at right. Back from the sidewalk, entrances to the market stand open. The interior of the market is visible. Signs over the wide entrances read, from left to right, "[TH]REE GIRLS [BAKE]RY & COFFEE BAR," and "Russell's MARKET." The building housing the entrance curves back to the left as it extends out-of-frame. Two sets of pane-glass windows are inset above the signs. Signage along the top of the building reads, "[...]C MARKE[T]."
