- Photograph of Mertie West sitting at a writing desk in the lobby of the Chateau Lake Louise. A chair upholstered in a floral print sits in the foreground at center and faces left. Beyond it, Mertie West sits in the near distance, left-of-center, at a writing desk. Mertie sits in profile, facing left. The desk, obscured by a plant in the foreground, stands propped against a wall at left. The left wall is lined by large, arched windows and stretches back towards center. Behind and to the right of Mertie, the lobby extends into the background. An arched entryway stands at the far end of the lobby at center and a decorative ceiling hovers over the lobby at right.
