Photograph of Mertie West sitting in a chair on the lawn of the Chateau Lake Louise hotel in Banff National Park. A walkway stretches back from the bottom edge and along the left edge. A grass lawn extends to the right of it. Mertie West sits in a chair on the lawn at center. She looks to the camera. A few empty chairs sit in a row to the right of her. Behind and to the left of Mertie, several other guests lounge in chairs on the lawn. A tiered and ivy-covered terrace stretches up and back along the back right edge of the lawn. Atop the terrace, the hotel stands in partial view, rising beyond the top frame. The Painter Wing enters frame from right and extends towards the left. Six arched windows line the lowest level and balconies line a few of the upper levels. To the left of the hotel, pines stand in the background. Four punched holes line the bottom edge at right.
