According to the negative sleeve, this set of photographs is captured in color. The scans of these images are in black and white.
An out-of-focus photograph of Mertie West standing on the railroad station's platform at Dunsmuir. Mertie stands in the near distance, left-of-center, and looks to the camera. The platform stretches back behind her on an angle from left to right. A barrier wall lines the left side of the platform. Beyond the wall, a steep hillside slopes upward to the left. It is dotted by trees. Behind Mertie, at right, other travelers walk along the platform. The train is hidden in shadow along the right edge as it sits next to the platform. In the distance at right, a tree-covered hillside rises. Four punched holes line the bottom edge at right.
