Photograph of Mertie West standing in front of Frances Wells' apartment in Anchorage, Alaska. The front of a house stands in the near distance, off-center to the right. It is viewed from the front at angle. Its lawn stretches in front and to the right of it. Two porthole windows sit to either side of the front door and a shuttered window sits directly above it. Three dormers stand atop the roof. Mertie West stands in the distance, right-of-center, on the walkway and in front the front door. She looks to the camera. A line of trees stands along a walkway on the left side of the house. At far left, a car is parked alongside the trees. A few punch holes line the top edge.
