Notes
- Description
- Photograph of Mertie West (center) and others strolling through the town of Circle, Alaska. Overgrown grasses in the foreground at left line a dirt and gravel road that enters frame at right. Mertie West walks along this road in the distance, right-of-center. One man stands behind and to the left of Mertie. Three other people stand in the overgrown grasses that line the right side of the road. Beyond them, 2 log buildings stand in a line that recedes into the distance. The taller of the two buildings stands nearer to camera along the right edge. Both buildings are viewed at an angle and face left. The Yukon River flows horizontally across the image in the background, disappearing behind the log buildings at right.
