Photograph, from left to right, of Wes Witherby and Mertie West sitting at their table on the patio at El Paseo restaurant in Santa Barbara. In the foreground, other diners (partial view) sit along the right and left edges of the image. The Wests' and Witherbys' table sits in the near distance at center. It is viewed at an angle that extends upwards from left to right. An empty chair is pushed away from the table at center; Mertie West sits to the right of the chair on the near side of the table. She looks to the left. To the left of Mertie, Wes Witherby sits at the head of the table; he gazes directly to the camera. On the far side of the table, Dode Witherby (left) and Zetta Witherby (right) are visible sitting at the table, but are partially out-of-frame and obscured, respectively. Behind the group, windows line the perimeter of the dining space and other diners sit in the background at right.
