Edwin Emery, Nella West, Mertie Whitaker, and Ellen Lorene (Pinkie) Lemberger stand on the porch of 240 South Griffin Avenue. Mr. Emery leans on the porch railing. Ms. Whitaker and Ms. Lemberger look off to the left, while Ms. West stands on a lower step with her arms crossed in front of her and looks at the camera. A sign hanging from the porch reads, "architect and contractor." There are trees on either side of the porch and what may be a mailbox at the bottom of the steps.
