- Photograph of Mertie West picking plums from a tree in the yard of an abandoned property. A fence stretches from the left side of the bottom edge of the image and back towards the center of the image. On the right side of the fence, overgrown grasses extend across the foreground. In the near distance, Mertie West stands with her back to the camera and picks plums from the tree in front of her at center. On the left side of the fence is a paved drive and building. The drive extends across the foreground. The building stands further back at left and extends out-of-frame at left. A car is parked beneath a covered parking area in front of the building. In the far distance, a barn is visible behind the building.
