- Caption
- Text from negative sleeve: 1304. Venice, California, about 1903. I had father build us a beach cottage at the corner of Island Avenue and Speedway, Venice, California, just after Abbott Kinney laid out Venice. The lost cost me $1,000.00 and father built the cottage for an even thousand dollars more. We lived there two straight years, then moved to Los Angeles, and traded the place for a lot on Mildred Ave., on which father built me two cottages. 1. The cottage when completed. The man is Mr Waddack. He was the Chief Clerk for Pat Sheedy, Supt of M. P. and M., S. P. R. R., and an old friend. In fact he roomed at our Daly Street for a few months once - 133 S.
