Photograph, from left to right, of Will P. Mead, Mary A. West, Sena Mead and Paul Mead riding in a horse-drawn wagon as they travel through San Gabriel Canyon. The wagon rig is viewed at an angle from the front as it approaches the camera; it faces left. A narrow dirt pathway stretches on an upward angle from the lower left corner to the right. Two horses pull the wagon along this pathway and stand nearest to camera. They pull the wagon towards the camera and face slightly left. Behind the horses, Mary A. West and the Mead family sit in their open wagon. Will Mead faces left and sits directly behind the horses. The women sit behind him. Mary A. West is at center and Sena is to her right; she holds her infant son Paul. The trunk of a crooked tree stands directly behind them. Tall grasses span the canyon floor. Low mountains rise in the distance at left.
