- Description
- Photograph of the campanile and bells of San Gabriel Mission. A dirt road passes in front of the mission in the foreground. Beyond it, a low wall stretches across the side of the mission. An unidentified man stands in front of the wall at center and stretches an arm out to the right. In front and to the right of him grows a palm. Behind him in the near distance stands the campanile of San Gabriel Mission and its bells. Only 4 of the 6 bells are visible and in place. The mission extends to the left and right of the bell tower and out-of-frame on each side. Two pilasters stands to the right of the campanile. A lower, pitched roof extends out-of-frame from the left side of the campanile.
