- A scratchy photograph of a member of H. H. West's hunting party lying down in the group's tent and napping near New River in the Imperial Valley. The person lies on their back with their legs outstretched towards the lower left corner and their head towards the upper right corner. One leg is outstretched and the other is bent at the knee. They lie with their hands resting clasped across their abdomen and with a hat covering their face. In front of them at center, there is a small camping chair. Behind their head, a support post stands. The tent hangs over them with the bottom of the tent pulled up off the ground.
